Happy Birthday — I Will Be There for Every One

On their birthday, some things are easier to write than to say. This is a letter for the person who matters most — the softness and the wishes you keep inside, turned into words.

Hey — it's your birthday today. I've had this date marked in my head all year, and I'm glad I get to watch you grow another year older. Happy birthday.

This is the first time I've written to you like this. I'm not good at saying romantic things out loud, but I know exactly what you are to me: everything. I want to keep holding your hand and walking forward. I believe we have a very long way to go together.

If I ever do something that upsets you, tell me. I will apologise first and I will not argue about who is right. Don't keep your hurt to yourself — let's talk about it early and keep working on this together.

I'm grateful that I met you and got to know you. There are many kinds of happiness in the world; meeting you was the first, and wanting to see you is the second. I want to walk with you from the excitement of the beginning to the calm of belonging. Time will show that simple affection lasts longest, and ordinary company is the most reassuring kind.

I love you on your birthday, but also on every ordinary day in between. I want to keep exploring this interesting world with you and become better people together. At some point, loving you turned into a habit. We got used to simply being there for each other — that is the realest kind of happiness.

You can be an adult for the rest of the world. With me, you can always be a kid. I hope everything good arrives on time this year. Happy birthday — and I will not miss a single one after this.

I'm not good at saying it directly, so I'm writing it instead. Our story is like a diary full of notes in the margins — every page holds something we grew through. From butterflies to peace, from novelty to belonging, we stumbled a lot, but it was all memorably sweet.

You have seen me at my worst and still made room for my stubbornness and my fragile days. You showed me what it means to meet someone halfway. I remember the tea you quietly made while I worked late, the sweets you produced like a magic trick when I was sad, and the way you said "don't worry, I'm here". You are the most precious thing in my life.

In this new year, I hope time is gentle with you, that what you want arrives, and that the road ahead is smooth. I want to keep collecting sunrises and sunsets with you, and unlock more of the world together.

Happy birthday, my favourite person. Let me keep being the ground you can stand on, and keep writing all the romance into our story.
